Fortress Lake Conquering Chironomids School
An Exclusive Fly Fishing Experience with Phil Rowley
Monday, June 8, 2026 – Friday, June 12, 2026

Join world-renowned stillwater fly fishing expert Phil Rowley at Fortress Lake Wilderness Retreat, an Orvis Endorsed Lodge nestled in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. In early June the chironomid hatches are intense and the Fortress Lake brook trout feed heavily on the ascending pupa. A combination that provides you with the perfect opportunity to develop or improve your stillwater skills using chironomid patterns and a variety of presentation techniques. Accessible only by helicopter, this remote wilderness offers pristine waters and a chance to fish for trophy-sized brook trout—descendants of the legendary Lake Superior “Coaster” strain. Limited to 12 students, this immersive school combines on-the-water instruction, daily seminars, and expert-guided fishing in one of the most stunning fly fishing destinations on Earth.
